Matches & Messaging

Matches & Messaging

1) How swipes & matches work

Summary:
Swipe right to show interest. When both people like each other, a match is created and a private chat opens.

Flow

  1. Discover: Browse profiles and swipe right if you’re interested.

  2. Connect: A match happens when the other person also likes you.

  3. Engage: Matching unlocks a private chat to talk via text, photos, and voice notes.

2) Messaging basics: text, photos, voice notes

Summary:
After matching, you can chat by text, send photos, and record voice messages. Keep conversations respectful and follow guidelines.

Steps

  1. Go to Matches, tap the person to open chat.

  2. Type to send a text, or use the media/voice icons to attach photos or voice notes.

  3. If someone is abusive or suspicious, use Report or Block from the chat/profile menu.

3) Why I can’t message (no chat button)

Summary:
You can only message after you match. If a chat disappeared, the other person may have unmatched or their account was actioned.

Quick checks

  • Did you actually match yet? Messaging unlocks only on a mutual like.

  • Has the match expired or been removed (unmatched / guideline action)? Try meeting new people.

  • Still stuck? Share your app version + device model with support.

4) Not seeing new matches — tips that work

Summary:
Most match droughts are profile or preference issues. Optimise photos/bio, widen filters, and consider a Booster.

Do this first

  • Update photos (recent, well-lit), finish your bio, add interests.

  • Widen preferences (distance/age) to see more profiles.

  • Use a Booster24/Booster48 to increase visibility for 24–48h.

  • Check what your plan includes (response limits/quotas differ by tier).

5) Report or block someone (from chat or profile)

Summary:
Use Report or Block from the chat/profile menu. Reports are confidential and reviewed by our Trust & Safety Team.

Steps

  1. Open the conversation or the user’s profile.

  2. Tap More (…) → Report (choose a reason) or Block.

  3. For urgent safety issues, also contact support via in-app Help or WhatsApp.

What happens next

  • Reports are queued for review; actions can include warnings, feature limits, or account removal. We don’t share your report with the other user.

6) Plan limits & daily response quotas (quick guide)

Summary:
Higher plan tiers unlock higher response limits. If you hit a limit, you’ll see an in-app message; upgrade or wait for the daily reset.

Know this

  • Tiers like Ayanfe, Ide, Fadaka, Wura have different quotas/permissions.

  • Add-ons like Booster24/48 don’t change your plan tier but increase visibility temporarily.

7) Keep chats safe & respectful

Summary:
Be kind. Don’t share passwords, codes, or financial info. Report scams or harassment immediately. 18+ only.

Guidelines snapshot

  • No harassment, hate speech, explicit content, or scams.

  • Verify before meeting; pick public places; tell a friend.

  • Use Report/Block for problems; we review and act. (yetunde.app)
